Some famous people who died this past week:
Corey Haim (38) Canadian-born Hollywood teen star of the ‘80s who became as famous for his struggles with substance abuse as for his acting. Haim had been suffering flulike symptoms; his mother found him in distress and called paramedics, who took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead of an apparent prescription drug overdose, in Burbank, California on March 10, 2010.
Merlin Olsen (69) football Hall of Famer who helped to form one of the NFL’s greatest defensive lines before embarking on a successful career in TV. Olsen was a member of the Los Angeles Rams’s “Fearsome Foursome” along with Deacon Jones, Lamar Lundy, and Rosey Grier in the ‘60s. He later starred on NFL broadcasts, commercials, and as Jonathan Garvey on the TV series Little House on the Prairie. He died of mesothelioma in Duarte, California on March 11, 2010.
